The Pine of the Himalayas or whining Pin of the Himalayas (Pinus wallichiana) is a tree of the family of the Pinaceae.

Synonym: Pinus excelsa Wall. ex Lamb.

Description

Size : until 45 meters.

Needles : long 12-20 cm, grouped by 5 in bouquets falling, of glaucous, soft color with the touch.

Fruits : cones long 15-30 cm, often grouped, and covered with resin.

Bark : brown orange

This species of pine was introduced in 1844 with the Botanical garden of Paris
