Pimp My Ride
Pimp My Ride is a television program diffused on MTV and MusiquePlus (MuchMusic) and presented by Xzibit. The concept is to take again old dilapidated cars pertaining to young people and to make them give in state by the mechanics of West Coast Customs (for the first four seasons) and Galpin Auto Sports (as from the fifth season), of the specialized companies in the tuning. All is renovated, mechanics but more especially the appearance and the accessories of the cars (Tuning).
Beyond the usual comic springs (play of the actors and mechanics, Sound effects S), the entertainment rests on a parodic exaggeration of the mode of personalization of the vehicles: installation of Aquarium S, Buddhist gongs, jacuzzis, seats in fur, grinding machines of balls of bowling or tables of table tennis in the cars. The recurring modifications include/understand the installation of flat panel displays in strange places (ceiling, screen-door, head-rest postpone and even under the car), the installation of sound systems surpuissantes, the installation of game consoles integrated into the car and the assembly of oversize rims and whose price exceeds that of the car by far such as it is presented to the beginning of the emission.
The current team is made up of: Gyasi (tires and rim S), Diggity Dave (accessories), Rick (interiors), Mad Mike (additional), and Shine (painting). The current owner is called Beau)
The emission also has a European version entitled Pimp My Ride International presented by the rappeurs Fat Joe and Lil Jon.
The footballer Djibril Cissé was one of the invited high-speed motorboats of this program whose team “tuné her case”. Knowing its taste for the tuning, 13th Street, a French chain would have proposed to him to present in times to come the French-speaking equivalent from the emission Pimp My Ride but the project was not born yet.
