Pimelodus ornatus
Pimelodus ornatus is a Espèce of Poisson S Siluriformes or catfishes of tropical and subtropical fresh water of the family of the Pimelodidae, originating in South America. One meets it for example in Guyana, where it is often called will pakira .
Description
It is a catfish, presenting barbules characteristic to the level of the mouth. It can reach a length of 30 with 35cm. It is brown, with fine transverse bands white-beige, as well as a horizontal band on the back half of the body. It has two dorsal fins, of which developed the enough first, like two pairs of ventral fins. Certain spines of its fins produce a toxic mucus inflicting a strong pain.
Lifestyle
This species lives at the bottom of the clear water rivers.
