The tradition allots the foundation of the Collégiale to Charlemagne in 778. There were very early Bénédictin S. The December 15th 1268, a contract of paréage was signed between the Abbé Arnaud de Sanguinet and five canons of collegial of Pimbo, on the one hand, and Thomas d' Ypergrave seneshal of Gascogne, representing of the King-Duke Henri III of England, on the other hand. This contract of the foundation of oldest the country house landaise envisages also the construction of a castle on a ground given by the abbot. There were then three churches, Holy-Marie-Madeleine, Notre-Dame and St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, collegial which, only, remains. The first known document is the contract of Paréage, of 1268, characteristic of the foundations of the country house S. It shares the rights on a stronghold between two lords (a monk and laic generally). In exchange of the rights of justice and land rights shared between the two lords, the new inhabitants profit from a religious protection from Collegial and soldier from the Château. Indeed, the purpose of the creation of English or French country houses, political phenomenon of XIIIe and the 14th century of the south-west of France, is the establishment of inhabitants who see themselves allotted many advantages guaranteed by the granting of a habit (rights of the inhabitants inside a city). If the majority of these new cities, that are the country houses, have a regular orthogonal plan, some of enters have to adapt to the configurations of the ground or the presence of an old borough. It is the case with Pimbo, country house-street, built on a narrow peak allowing the construction of a single street connecting the Collegial one to what was the castle.
