Pikmin 2
Pikmin 2 (ピクミン 2 in Japanese) is a Strategy game in real-time developed and published by Nintendo on GameCube in 2004.
It is about the continuation of Pikmin .
Scenario
In Pikmin 2 , the captain Olimar is returned on planet of the first episode with a Louie assistant, to find treasures of all kinds with an aim as of reselling them on Hocotate (its native planet) to avoid with the company which employs it to go bankrupt.
Gameplay
The play mainly takes again the gameplay Pikmin , by withdrawing the principle of limited time. The player directs Olimar, a character of the size of an insect. Olimar is helped for that of Pikmins, creatures which obey to him and which have various capacities which depend on their color. They can fight, be launched in inaccessible places and carry objects.
Innovations
This following brought some innovations:- of new types of Pikmin (white which poisons the enemy when they are eaten, which resist the poisons and which can detect the objects hidden under ground, the purple ones which is ten times heavier and ten times stronger than other Pikmins);
- a new character: Louie (the player can control two groups of Pikmin separately);
- a multijouor mode: 2P battle where two players clash to collect the most balls, and the challenge mode which allows a co-operation between two players to collect the objects (to be noted that this mode must be freed);
- of the bays which make it possible to create sprays in order to transform into rock the enemy or to increase the speed of attack and displacement of Pikmins temporarily.
To note
- the name of the hero, Olimar, was in the beginning (on the Japanese version where it was called Orima) a deformation of the name Mario.
