Fontès is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Fontésols.

Geography

Fontès is a village located in margin of the Valley of Herault, sprinkled by its river “the Boyne” and kept, in the East, by its Volcan “the Céressou” (207 m).

History

Andre Burgos character éminant in the village. Former member of the cabinet of Jacque Chaban-Delmas when this one was Prime Minister then mayor of Bordeaux. To its retirement Mr. Burgos in his village of Pig iron and cast iron in 1995 returns. Whereas beaucoups wished that it be presented to the local elections of 1995, it preferred to be devoted to the life of the village in another way. Thus since its retirement, it was devoted to the drafting of works, of exposures,… on the village in bond with évnements which marked the national history: the laicization of teaching, the law of 1905 , events of 1907 .
