Pietro Longhi

Pietro Falca , known as Pietro Longhi , born with Venice on November 5th, 1701 when he died on May 8th, 1785, is a Venetian Peintre.

Wire of the founder of money Alessandro Falca and Antonia, its first Master was Antonio Balestra. It is in 1732 qu' it takes the name of Longhi . He marries Catarina Maria Rizzi , with which he will have 11 children of which 7 will die in low age. One of them Alessandro will make a book in 1762 entitled Sommaires of the lives of the Venetian painters of history most famous of this century and will become portraitist.

It is with Bologna that he learns how to make frescos with Giuseppe Maria Crespi , but it is not its style. It begins Venetian portraits. He adores engravings of Giovanni Battista Remondini or the French Joseph Flipart.

It painted several paintings representing the daily life (scenes realistic) in Venice, of which the Rhinoceros and Ridotto .
