Pietro Cavallini
Pietro Cavallini (1259 - 1330) is a painter and an Italian mosaïste of the Roman school of the Pre-Rebirth of the Trecento.
The discovery of its frescos with Rome in 1900 allowed the revision of the theses of Giorgio Vasari, which exclusively placed the origin of Italian painting at Florence.
Its works will infuenceront Giotto di Bondone at the time of its voyage to Rome, also reversing the assertion of an opposite influence preached by Vasari.
In 1278, the painters Cimabue, Pietro Cavallini and Filippo Rusuti, which is destined for Assise to decorate the basilica franciscaine, will influence the Giotto young person who is formed with their contact.
