Pietra-di-Verde

Pietra-di-Verde is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Corse and the Corsica area .

Geography

Located in the Pieve of Verde, in the area of named Corsica the Castagniccia (“the chestnut grove”), the village of Pietra-di-Verde ( has Petra di Verde in Corsican, “the stone of greenery”) car its name of the schists to the green colors which level in the surroundings.

It is composed of three more or less distinct localities: the Muchju (“the cistus”), more or less exchange, the Muntichju (“the monticule”), in the heights towards the west, and the Paisolu (“the hamlet”), which overhangs the valley towards the east.
