Pieter van Laer

Pieter Jacobsz van Laer ( Pierre de Laar ) known as Bamboccio or the Rattan , (1592, Haarlem - 1642, Haarlem), Dutch painter.

It was thus called because it was counterfeited. Born in 1613 with Laar, close to Naarden, spent 16 years to Rome in the company of the best Masters (1625 - 1238). It was with Rome the founder of the Bentveughel S. It came in 1639 to be fixed at Haarlem, where it died in 1642. This Master especially excelled representing huntings, fishings, Kermesse S or village f4etes; from where this last kind of composition preserved the name of Bambochade S. the Musée of Louvre has two of its tables.
