Pierrot studio
is a studio of films and series of animation Japanese founded in May 1979 by Yuuji Nunokawa and former members of the studio Tatsunoko of which Hisayuki Toriumi and Mamoru Oshii.
Its name, Pierrot, come from Japanese who means Clown . It should be noted that this word is derived from French Pierrot , who is a type of clown of the Commedia dell' arte .
The Pierrot studio was specialized a long time in the Magical girl with successful series like Creamy, marvellous Creamy , Fancy Lala or more recently Tokyo mew mew . But since the beginning of the years 2000, the studio turns davantange worms of the productions more Shōnen like Great teacher Onizuka , Bleach , Hikaru No go or Naruto celebrates it.
History
After having finished its studies, Yuuji Nunokawa works for several studio of which Mushi Production and especially Tatsunoko. In 1979, the Gakken company orders a new production to him: the marvellous voyage from the Nile Holgersson . It is on this occasion that Nunokawa creates the Pierrot studio with in particular Hiroko Tokita and of old of Tatsunoko like Hisayuki Toriumi, Masami Anno, Motosuke Takahashi and Mamoru Oshii.
Urusei Yatsura is the first success of the studio. This television series diffused of 1981 to 1986 reveal Mamoru Oshii, its realizer who will also work on two films derived from the series. In 1983, the studio produced Creamy, marvellous Creamy , its first series Magical girl which will be followed from three others: Vanessa or magic of the dreams in 1984, magic Emi in 1985 and Suzy with the magic flowers in 1986.
Pierrot has also prouit in 1983 the first OAV of the history: Dallos .
