Geography
The Arentèle which sprinkles the commune is born with the foot from Avison with Bruyères.
History
At the 7th century, Saint Dié going up banks of the Arentèle there made stage and began the construction of a Monastère. The inhabitants of the village, dissatisfied with the arrival of new occupants, drove out it. It will then carry on its road further towards the east and will found the town of the Saint-Dié-of-Vosges.

The church Saint-Gengoult-and-Saint-Dié has a bell-tower with bulb, with the mode of the 18th century.
