Pierrefitte-sur-Seine
Pierrefitte-sur-Seine is a commune of the Seine-Saint-Denis, located between Saint-Denis and the department of the Val-d'Oise. It belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration Plaine Commune and is the chief town of the Canton of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine.
The city counts 25.789 inhabitants with the census of 1999. The inhabitants of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine are Pierrefittoises and Pierrefittois.
Geography
The territory of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine is located at the north of Saint-Denis, with ten kilometers of Paris, on RN1. It extends mainly on the Plaine from France, but its north-western limits are consisted the buttresses of the Ridge-Finch.A whole of small brooks are discernible on the old charts, but have they have summers buried with the wire of the history in order to combat the risks of flood while allowing the drainage of the grounds.

- the line 11b of STCRP Station of the East - Dam Pierrefitte , created on May 1st, 1922, passed by Carrefour Pleyel, the Door of Paris, the church Saint-Denis-in Estrée and the place of the Leclerc General to Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), transported 4.400.000 travellers in 1926. In approximately 1930, there were 7 departures at the rush hour and 3 in off-peak hour for the Door of Clignancourt (line 65) and there to join the subway, as well as the Place of the Republic (11b). It took 34 minutes to make the Pierrefitte way - Door of Clignancourt.
It was removed, like the 65, on May 18th, 1936: the whole of the sector from now on was served by Autobus, then considered as more modern…
Today
August 1st The commune is served with its southern extrème by the Ligne 13 of the Parisian subway in the south and the RER D ('' Pierrefitte - Stains '') in the east.In terms of bus, its service road is ensured by the lines like, the night by Noctilien

The project of tyred Tram, Saint-Denis - Garges-Sarcelles says TCSP RN1 ( for Public transport on exclusive right of way of the RN-1 ), is envisaged on the main axis of the city, between gone of Saint Denis and the Gare of Garges - Sarcelles. It should be brought into service in 2010-2011.
According to the project of SDRIF made public on November 15th, 2006, it could be prolonged in the long term with Garges-lès-Gonesse.
The zone of the Tartar
The zone of the Tartar is a sector a long time forsaken sirué with the borders of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, Stains and Saint-Denis, occupied in particular by market-gardeners and working gardens, served by the Pavé of Amiens which will be restructured soon by the General advice within the framework of the project of prolongation of the RD 28.

- Valoriser the economic activity by seeking the best localizations taking into consideration local need, in particular the reception of PME/PMI and artisanal companies, and the land offer available.
- To consolidate the habitat in a preoccupation of diversification of the offer and an accompaniment of the operations of heavy reorganization of the inheritance.
- To develop an environmental and landscape dimension sector in a network of exchanges on a Plaine Commune scale and Department.
Center of the French Public records
In March 2004, the president of the Republic Jacques Chirac announced that the new complex of the Public records would be built in the zone of the Tartar.
This site was retained because of the land availability, but also because of its service road by the subway station of Saint-Denis - University on the Ligne 13 of the Parisian subway and the proximity of the universities of Saint-Denis and Villetaneuse
The building, designed by the architect Massimiliano Fuksas, of a storage capacity of 320 kilometers linear, will accommodate 400 people approximately (enquiring, teaching, student, genealogists…) each day.
The creation of this center is estimated at 119 M€ and the delivery of the new building is planned for 2009.

Etymology
Drawing its name from Latin Petra ficta (stone solidified on the ground or Menhir), the town of Pierrefitte on the Seine, ground of vineyards, is a territory with the thousand-year-old history.
The Middle Ages at the XVIIIe century
Property of the Abbey of Saint-Denis at the 9th century, it was partly destroyed at the 15th century, during the Guerre One hundred Year old, then bombarded and devastated during that of 1870.At the 18th century, Pierrefitte is a village of farmers and carriers, who exploit the Gypse stone with Plâtre of the buttresses of the Ridge-Finch.
The XIXe century
