Pierrefitte-be-Wood


Pierrefitte-be-Wood is a common French, located in the department of the Loiret and the area Center.

Geography


It is on the common that the culminating point of the Loiret is, to the locality " Foulonnerie" (Collar of Etournaux), namely 273 meters of altitude.

It is located at the entry of the Country-Extremely.

History

A stone in the shape of table hidden under the church (of which certain elements date from the 11th century) would have given its Latin name to the commune: Pietra fista (Pierre card-indexed).

The bell-tower of the church is strongly tilted (1,5 m of false balance).

Economy

Commune living of a primarily agricultural economy (cereal culture and cattle-rearing area).

Culture

Great annual festival on May 1st: " The Fair in Chieuvres" (local arts and crafts, tastings, produced soil, horse-gears, ball…)
