Pierre the Russet-red , (February 27th 1874 with Plouëc-of-Trieux the - September 3rd 1975) was a linguist and professor of Breton.
He knew Breton his area of origin, and also of Maël-Carhaix. He followed to Paris the courses of Celtic of Henri Gaidoz and Henri d' Arbois of Jubainville, and replaced Joseph Loth with the pulpit of Celtic at the university of Rennes in 1911.
He in particular realized between 1911 and 1920, starting from investigations made in 77 points of the territory of the Low-Brittany, a Linguistic atlas of Low-Brittany . The investigator moved for that with bicycle. This book in six volumes presents 600 charts, each one giving the pronunciation of a word (and derivatives, possibly).
This work will be analyzed later on by Kenneth Jackson, François Falc' hun, and others.
