Pierre of Blois

Pierre of Blois (in Latin Petrus Blessensis ) (v. 1135 - v. 1203) is a Diplomate and Poète French néo-Latin.

He studies the right and theology with the Sorbonne. It is probably during its years of student that it composes a certain number of Latin texts, of which some were preserved in the collection of Carmina Burana.

Pierre becomes the tutor of the king Guillaume II of Sicily in 1167. Around 1173, it is established in England, or it is used Henri II as England and Thomas Becket as secretary. Then it returns to the service of Aliénor of Aquitaine, widow of Henri II.
