Pierre de Rivaux
Pierre de Rivaux (death in 1262) is an influential courtier poitevin at the court of Henri III of England. He is related to Pierre of the Rocks, being his nephew (or perhaps a son).
He is indeed the principal minister of Henri as from 1232 and for one short period, occupant of loads in the House of the King and being installed as Shérif in several Comté S. Its administration includes/understands Stephen Segrave, Robert Passelewe and Brian de Lisle and carries out a concentration between its hands of a great part of the royal incomes.
He loses the capacity in 1234 under dramatic conditions, following the death of Richard the Marshal, 3 {{E}} count de Pembroke, which was allotted to the schemes of Pierre Rocks. During a time, Pierre de Rivaux and his friends were proclaimed treacherous. A partial rehabilitation followed.
It occupies the offices of governor of the Five-Ports and guard of the Château of Dover, as from 1236, and knows a short rise before décelnchement in the second war of the barons. At that time, the two offices had been separated and titrates it of Lord Warden was not established, with the result that Rivals was described as Guard of the coast of the kings.
