Pierre de Pelleport
Pierre de Pelleport (1773-1855), general French, born with Montréjeau (Haute-Garonne) the October 26th 1773, died in Bordeaux (the Gironde) the December 15th 1855.
It was Major general, seriously wounded with the Bataille of Eylau in 1807, it was useful later in the armies of the Restoration and was named with the Room of the Pars in 1841.
It entered to the service like soldier the levy in masse of its department, and made in this body the campaigns of the the Eastern Pyrenees, during which it was promoted with the rank of second lieutenant. It passed then in 18th from line where it became Brigadier general. It made the campaigns of Italy, of Egypt, was wounded under the walls of Saint-Jean-in Acre, and was made captain with Aboukir.
It was the first promotion of the Légion of honor, made the campaigns of Austria, Prussia and Poland; it gained with Iéna the shoulder pads of Major, and a rich person equipment with Eylau where it had received several wounds.
Colonel with Essling, it was still distinguished with Wagram and Bataille from Znaïm, and gained there the cross of officer and the title of baron with a new equipment. In Russia, it fought under the orders of Ney and accepted with Valontino the cross of commander, and in the same countryside the Brigadier general rank of .
In 1813, the Pelleport general glorieusement showed with Bataille of Lützen (1813), with Bautzen, Leipzig. Wounded in this battle, it accepted the cross of the Couronne of Iron, took share with the countryside of France and was again wounded under the walls of Paris.
Louis XVIII made the general Pelleport Chevalier of Saint-Louis and commander of a brigade of the garrison of Paris. During the Hundred Days, it passed to the Armée with the South under the orders of the general Gilly.
Attached in 1823 to the Forwarding of Spain, it accepted Duc of Angouleme the title of Viscount, the cross of large officer, that of Commandeur of Saint-Louis, and that of the Ordre of Saint-Ferdinand, 4th class.
It was then attached to the superior council of the war.
The general of Pelleport was not employed after the events of 1830. He was given in activity only in 1834. In 1836, it was named general inspector and higher commander of the Camp of Saint-Omer, then called with the command of the 21e and the 11th military divisions. It was Major general since the August 8th 1823.
