Pierre de Bénouville

Pierre de Bénouville , born the August 8th 1914 with Amsterdam and deceased the December 4th 2001 with Paris, was a writer, resistant Politician and French.
He wrote several works under the complete patronym of Guillain de Bénouville and was often called Pierre Guillain de Bénouville . The particle as well as the patronym however were raised by Bénouville itself as of 1936 (for the signature of the work Baudelaire too the chrétien) (to read on this subject the explanations of Guy Perrier in its biography of Pierre de Bénouville appeared in 2005). The family record book, the marriage certificate as well as the death certificate of the registry office are marked " Pierre de Bénouville" , while its nomination of Brigadier general in the Official journal in 1953 carries that of " Pierre Guillain de Bénouville".
Youth
During its youth, studying with the faculty of letters of Paris, it militates with the Camelots of the King, youth organization of the French Action (AF), a while short to the Hood, and takes part in the riots of the February 6th, 1934. In the years 1935-1937, he attends the chiefs of the Cagoule, like his friends André Bettencourt, Claude Roy and François Mitterrand. He breaks with the French Action at the end of 1938, because she declares herself favorable to the Accords of Munich, whereas Bénouville, intransigent nationalist, are hostile there.
Resistance
Mobilized in 1939 during the Second world war, Bénouville is made prisoner by the German troops. He escapes and joined Nice.Marechalist initially, it leaves clandestinely for the North Africa, in January 1941, hoping to join the free French Forces, but it is made prisoner by the police force of the mode petainist. Returned in front of the military tribunal of Toulon, he is discharged during the summer 1941. He then joined Resistance to the sides of Henri Frenay. He founds the movement Radio-Fatherland, binds with Combat and Noyautage of the public administrations. At the end of 1942, it finds his friend François Mitterrand, and the assistance to weave its resistance network.
A little later during the creation of the plain Movements of resistance (WALL), Bénouville becomes member of their management committee.
In parallel, under the name of code of Bars, it is implied personally in the installation of the contacts between the movements of interior Résistance and the free France, crossing thus fifty-three time the free-Switzerland border.
In April 1944, it joined Algiers via the Spain, to escape the Gestapo. From May in June 1944, it fights in Italy.
Its attitude during the Second world war is worth to him to be made Compagnon of the Release, Grand officer of the Légion of honor, decorated with the Military Cross 1939/1945, of the Médaille of Resistance, the Belgian Military Cross and of the Ordre of Léopold.
In the telefilm Jean Moulin, a French business (2003), Bénouville is shown with half-word “to have given” Jean Moulin to German, by political calculation.
Returned with Algiers where it directs the office FFI within the GPRA, it is promoted brigadier general at 30 years by the de Gaulle general.
Fact Companion of the Release, the general of Bénouville begins as of the end of the war in policy at the side of the general.
Post-war period
Member of the Board of Management of RPF in 1949, appointed gaullist of Ille-et-Vilaine between 1951 and 1956, and of 1958 to 1962, then of the Twelfth district of Paris between 1970 and 1986 then of the Eighth district of Paris of 1986 with 1993.Favorable to the French Algeria, it remains however faithful to the de Gaulle general indéfectiblement. In 1984, it vigorously defends with the National Assembly the attitude of her friend François Mitterrand during the war, attacked by deputies of right-hand side like François d' Aubert, Jacques Toubon or Alain Madelin. The former chief of Radio-Fatherland declares for example: “Mitterrand was ours! ” Ten years later, the attacks beginning again, Bénouville proposes in François Mitterrand that companions of the Release sign a text of support, but the president refuses: he does not have, according to him, to be justified, at least not at this point.
In 1988, it organizes at his place with Paris, one month before the presidential election, a meeting between Jacques Chirac and the chief of the National front, Jean-Marie Le Pen to discuss the between-two-turns.
Pierre de Bénouville in parallel carries out a career in the private sector as administrator of several companies, the editions Robert Laffont, the establishments Gaumont and especially the company Dassault-Breguet. He is director of the newspaper Jours of France of 1954 to 1967, then general president-director of the security company.
This man of honor, deeply catholic, and which will never disavow its royalist convictions of youth is always distinguished by a great independence of mind, dependant on his love of France.
