Pierre d' Hozier is a French genealogist, the first which cleared up the genealogical history and which made a science of it.

It was born with Marseilles on July 10th 1592, of a noble family, died in Paris on December 1st 1660. He was sior of the Guard. He enjoyed the favor of Louis XIII and of Louis XIV, was judge of weapons, made to certify the nobility.

There composed the Généalogie of the principal families of France , immense work, in a hundred and fifty volumes, remained handwritten. It moreover drew up separately and makes print the genealogy of several families, such as those of Brittany, Rochefoucauld, and good of others. It gave the History of the Ordre of the Holy Spirit , 1634.

His/her son is Charles Rene d' Hozier (1640 - 1732).
