Pierre Weiss (physicist)
Pierre Weiss (born in 1865, died in 1940) is a Physicien French, normalien and member of the Academy of Science. It is especially known for its work on the Magnétisme. It is in particular at the origin, in physical of the materials, the theory of the molecular field which allowed an extension to the materials Ferromagnétique S of the theory of the Paramagnétisme of Paul Langevin. He also worked on the Effet Zeeman in company of Aimé Cotton with which he also developed a system of location by the sound used during the second world war.
