Pierre Vassiliu

Pierre Vassiliu is a French singer born the October 23rd 1937 with Villecresnes in what will become later the Val de Marne, from a doctor of Rumanian origin, and his wife of the area of Turns. Its passion it is the horse, where it contributes hippiquement and short in the same way (6 victories in its table).

To the hippodrome of Tremblay, the chance will enable him to meet two riding apprentices who are not other than Roger Pierre and Jean-Marc Thibault (1954: one evening at WFP WFP, eclectic text and music jazzy). Follows a two months round with Francoise Hardy, Jacques Dutronc and Johnny Hallyday. It connects the tubes like Charlotte , Ivanhoe or the woman of the sergeant censured due to war of Algeria. Its title Which it is that one? left in 1973 was sold with more: 300000 specimens and put it in the memory of the 12-18 years of the time.

Its texts, very varied, accompanied by very diverse musics but almost always rythmées, express various things:

an indifference amused with regard to the world ( Which it is, that one? , the life that goes , Armand its first success of 1962),
but also a critical glance on this same world ( the woman known sergeant , Dangereux ),
a concern of remaining about it spectator ( Film ),
of the songs so romantic and tender ( Amour, friendship ),
the admiration of certain universal human qualities ( Toucouleur ),
less admiration for some of its contemporaries ( Y' has more under , the scheme ),
an epicureanism and an erotism amusing and of good quality ( the foot , French Nights ),
and much of spoonerisms ( Alice , My cousin , My cousin ).

One also owes him with his vocal trio the resurrection of an old French song, Belle which hold my life , sung has cappella .

In 2003, it made CD with Griot S Senegal board: the orchestra Kalone of the Casamance. He lived part of his life in Casamance, area located at the south of Senegal, in lower part of Gambia.
