Pierre Sudreau is a French politician, born the May 13rd 1919 in Paris.
From 1955 to 1962, he is police chief with the Construction and the Town planning of the Paris region, then Minister for Construction of the de Gaulle general and Michel Debré as from 1958. Ministre for State education from April 15th to October 15th, 1962, in the government of Georges Pompidou, Pierre Sudreau is opposed to the project of referendum on the election of the president of the Republic by the vote for all and resigns.
In 1965, Pierre Sudreau is one moment requested to be candidate with the presidency of the Republic, supported by the formations of the center. He declines this invitation. Four years later, it takes an active part in the presidential campaign of Mr. Alain Poher, president of the Senate.
Since 1967, he is elected appointed center Progrès and modern democracy (PDM) then reforming of Loir-et-Cher and seat to the National Assembly until 1981. He is also mayor of Blois of 1971 to 1989 (Jack Lang) succeeds to him following new municipal elections. He was the author of a report/ratio on " the Reform of the company ". This report/ratio which had been required of him by Valery Giscard d'Estaing in particular recommended to grant to the employee representatives a third of the stations in the boards of directors of the companies, measures which caused the hostility of employers, certain trade unions, members of Parliament gaullists but also of left and was never implemented.
Like chair during thirty years of the Federation of railway industries, it is at the origin of the launching of TGV.
He is president of the National association of the War veterans of Resistance (ANACR).
He is Grand-Croix of the Légion of honor.
Christiane Rimbaud devoted a work to him to the édtions of Seek-Midday.
