Pierre Subleyras
Pierre Subleyras , born the November 25th 1699 with Saint-Gilles-of-Gard and deceased with Rome the May 28th 1749 is a painter French.
He is resulting from a family of catholic craftsmen originating in the Vaucluse come to work with Uzès. Pierre Subleyras is born in Saint-Gilles-of-Gard whereas its family flees the religeux conflicts. To Paris, it enters to the Royal Académie and obtains first blow the Prix of Rome in 1727. In Rome he marries the miniaturist Maria-Felice Tibaldi and receives many orders emanating of the ecclesiastical world: he paints in particular the painting of the mass of Saint-Basile for the Basilique Saint-Pierre and the Martyre of Saint-Pierre .
