Pierre Pomet is a general storekeeper French, born in 1658 with Paris and dead the November 18th 1699 in this same city.

He acquires a great reputation quickly. He gives soon courses to explain the manufacture of his products. He makes appear in 1694, the general Histoire of drugs, treating Plante S, animals and minerals, etc , illustrated of more than 400 figures.

The publication of the work is somewhat difficult, of the people having stolen some of its notes and its drawings. In spite of an legal action, it does not obtain repair of this damage.

Its work is regarded as most complete and surest of its time. It is translated in several languages of which the German and the English.
