Pierre Poilievre

Pierre Poilievre (born the June 3rd 1979 with Calgary, in Alberta) is a Canadian Politician . He is currently Député with the House of Commons of Canada, having been re-elected in the Ontarian district of Nepean-Carleton at the time of the Canadian federal election of 2006. Poilievre is member of the Conservative party of Canada, and he is currently the youngest deputy with the Parlement of Canada.

Biography

Poilievre studied in international relations with the University of Calgary, and takes part in the forums of debate of the campus during its studies. However, it does not obtain a diploma.

Before launching out in policy, Poilievre is joint owner and operator of 3D Contact Inc. , a firm of survey and consultants (the other partner étaint the lawyer of Calgary Jonathan Denis). He also works for Magna International, concentrating on the communications, and he did work of public relations to Toronto. Before its election, Poilievre did political work for the deputies alliancists Stockwell Day and Jason Kenney, and works as assistant full-time for Mr. Day.

In 1999, Poilievre contributes a test on the public policies for the book At Stake , a collection of tests of as program Precedes Minister Awards de Magna International.

It gains the nomination of the Conservative party in the district of Nepean-Carleton in 2004, at the 25 years age, after the Ontarian provincial deputy John Baird decided not to present himself. In a race very observed, Poilievre demolishes the liberal minister David Pratt by nearly 4000 votes, that is to say 5,5% of the total. The liberals are reduced at a minority government at the time of the election.

Poilievre was voted one of the deputies more working in his district in the annual political survey of the newspaper The Hill Times .

The January 23rd 2006, Poilievre is re-elected with 55% of the voices, demolishing the liberal candidate by more than 19.000 votes. The conservatives could form a Minority government on the scale national.

The February 7th 2006, Poilievre is named parliamentary secretary with the hon. John Baird, the President of the Council of the treasure.
