Pierre Pierlot

Regarded as one of the Hautboïstes French most famous, Pierre Pierlot was born the April 26th 1921 with Paris and deceased the January 9th 2007.

Biography

After musical studies with the Conservatory of Valencian with Gaston Longatte, Pierre Pierlot enters to the Conservatoire of Paris the class of Louis Bleuzet and obtains in 1941 a first price of Hautbois and Chamber music, class of Fernand Oubradous. In 1949, it gains the first price with the international Concours of Geneva from which it was several times member of the jury like those of Munich and Budapest.

In 1946, from its friendship with the flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal is born the Wind quintet French with Jacques Lancelot with the Clarinette, Gilbert Coursier with the horn and Paul Hongne with the Basson. Starting from 1952, Pierre Pierlot is member of the Ensemble baroque of Paris with Robert Veyron-Lacroix and Robert Gendre.

After the Concerts Lamoureux where it creates the " Symphony concertante" of Jacques Ibert, it enters to the orchestra of the Op3era Comique in 1947 until its closing in 1972, becoming oboe solo of the orchestra of the opera of Paris. Named professor of Chamber music in 1969 with the Conservatory higher national of Paris, it will take the continuation in 1974 class of oboe of Etienne Baudo until in 1986. During this period 47 of its pupils the First Price obtains.

Concert performer and recognized chambrist of the whole world, dedicatee of the concerto of Milhaud (1958) and of the concerto of Martelli (1972), his recordings of the greatest concertos for oboe of Albinoni to Vivaldi, of Cimarosa to Mozart, or of Strauss to Poulenc, with the orchestras of Kurt Redel, Claudio Scimone and Jean-François Paillard remain and will remain references in particular " The Charm of Hautbois" (I Solisti Veneti, Erato).

His/her Philippe son is flutist with the National orchestra of France.
