Pierre Pettigrew

honourable Pierre Stewart Pettigrew (born with Quebec the April 18th 1951) is a Canadian politician . He was Foreign Minister in the liberal cabinet of Paul Martin and Député of the circonsription of Papineau, with Montreal.

After the referendum of 1995, the Prime Minister Jean Chrétien sought to increase its Québécois delegation with the Cabinet. It named Pettigrew with Stephan Dion with the Cabinet before even as they are elected with the Parlement.

He was a Minister for the international business, Minister for health and the intergovernmental businesses before being appointed Foreign Minister.

He is recognized on the Québécois political scene like a burning defender of the Canadian Fédéralisme, refusing with the Quebec a certain autonomy on the scene of the international policy. He is implied in the business Option Canada.

The December 28th 2005, into full electoral campaign, it was made attack in the Métro of Montreal, at the station Coast-Virtue by an individual named Richard Estel. Its attacker spent the New Year's Day to the Institut Philippe-Pinel.
