Pierre Palué

Pierre Palué is a French painter born with Bordeaux in 1920 and died in Chavannes (Drome) in 2005.

Bernard Clavel said of him:

“ There is dream in the reality of Palué, as there is sleep on the life

of its ways, its trees, its houses, its motionless water where sleep of the boats ”.

Biography

1920 : Birth in Bordeaux
1920-1939 : Elementary school in Bordeaux. Cantonal price with the certificate of studies. Higher elementary school: “ At the time of a visit of my father to the principal, it discovered that I worked little and put an end to my studies. ” Training near the father. Readings, drawing, photographs.
1939 : Volunteer in artillery, it joined the 194ème artillery with Vieux Brisach where it makes function of mechanic of battery. Fact captive to 10 km of Nantes, it is parked in pre with 8.000 others in Châteaubriant. He escapes and flees in Saint-Donat in Drome with future Dr. Henri Lemonon who shaved cranium and is made pass for a monk.
October 1940 : II Lemonon follows to Saint-Donat where it gives a knack to Chancel pharmacy, draws and paints with material lent by the preparer. It meets in 1943 Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet which hides in the commune. He studies the drawing at the school of art of Valence and remains with Mirmande where he receives the councils of André Lhote.
1944 : To the Release, it exposes to the living room of Surindépendants at the sides of Garbell, Bolin, Lauran. In 1945 its table the Tomatos , for its greater joy, is presented in a window of the Haussmann boulevard in Paris.
1947 : II wife Marie-Therese Patenne and settles definitively with Chavannes in Drome.
1950 : II participle in Lyon with the exposure the Sanzisme with his/her friends Andre Cottavoz, Fusaro, Truphemus, Lauran, Paul-Philibert Charrin.
1950-1960 : II give courses of drawing and of painting with Valence and with the college of Tournon then creates and directs the municipal school of art of Romans. In 1952, it exposes for the first time to Valence to the Bost gallery. It becomes acquainted with Jean Vinay, Marcel Roche, then of Yvette Alde and Bernard Buffet who invites it to Reillanne.
1960-1970 : Exposure to Paris, Vendôme gallery, presented and prefaced by Wild Marcel. Pierre Cailler devotes to him a plate in 1964 in the collection " Painters of yesterday and aujourd'hui" . He does not feel not insulated in Chavannes where has a presentiment of his/her friends painters, Maurice Savin, Bierge, Forissier, Chabrier… and of the writers, Bernard Clavel, Claude Roger Marx, Rene Barotte. He attends Pierre Cailler, Walter Lutz and of the merchants of tables: Elie-Leon Brami, Wolger Mosser of Sweden, Franck Partridge-Findlay. In addition to its exposures to Paris, New York and Geneva, great reproductions of its tables are published in England and in the USA - including four by the New York graphic society.
1970-1980 : II painted large paintings for the museum of Valence and the agricultural college of Valentine. The galerist from the Saint-Honore suburb to Paris, Colette Dubois, assembles an exposure to him every two years. He becomes acquainted with Maurice Brianchon of which he admires painting and enjoys to meet it in Paris or in his property of Truffle in the Dordogne. He binds a durable friendship with Raphaël Mischkind, his partner with the tennis and his faithful merchant of tables.
1980-1994 : Venice, Paris, Saint-Tropez and Arcachon inspire it. Benefitting from winters covered with snow in Drome, it paints also many landscapes under snow. At the request of Robert Moran who created and directs the review " Technique of the arts" , Palué writes several studies on Van Gogh, Cézanne, Gauguin, Vermeer and takes part in radio broadcasts at the sides of Pierre Bellemare. In 1990, great retrospective exposure of one hundred tables and hundred drawings within the prestigious framework of the castle of Mouchet in Chavannes and exposure to Paris in 1991 with the Parisian gallery Blackbird. In 1994 it receives an important ordering of the company Norbert Dentressangle.
1994-2004 : The exposures continue with the gallery of Colette Dubois, in Vienna, with the palate Delphinal de Saint-Donat, the vault of Cordeliers with Crest. Ultimate art publishing in the United States acquires the reproduction right of thirteen tables. In 2000, with the assistance of his Marie daughter, it opens in the Courbis house of Silvering-the Hermitage the museum of the Nouvelle school of Paris. For a long time Pierre Palué wanted to consign his memories and to give pleasure by using his talents of model maker. In 1995 it had already published the reasoned catalog of its works. In collaboration with the review " Studies drômoises" , it realizes successively: " Painters of Mirmande" , " Savin" , " Monier of Sizeranne" and " Marines" of Pierre Palué.
It is decorated about the national Merit.
2005 : Pierre Palué dies out in his house of Chavannes, surrounded by his many children and grandchildren.
