Pierre Maillard

Pierre Maillard (born with Laval in Mayenne the June 24th 1916) is a Diplomate French. He was, in particular, diplomatic adviser of the Général de Gaulle.

Biography

After studies with the Colleges Buffon and Louis Large the, Pierre Maillard is allowed with the National university of the street of Ulm in 1937. He is laid off in letters and right, then aggregate of German.

In 1942, Pierre Maillard is allowed with the entrance examination in the diplomatic and consular careers.

In 1945, he becomes Principal private secretary of the general secretary to the German and Austrian Businesses.

In 1948, it joined the central administration (Europe section) Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

In 1949, it regains the Austria, like assistant of the ambassador plenipotentiary, temporary of the Foreign Minister for the negotiation of the treaty of Austrian State, then like first secretary in Austria (in 1950).

In 1952, Pierre Maillard is affected to the secretariat of the conferences.

In 1953, he becomes sub-manager with the central administration (Saar section), then, in 1954, sub-manager then chief of the service of Raising.

Of 1954 with 1957, he is lecturer to the École of Political sciences.

In 1958, Pierre Maillard is director political of the the Council of Europe to Strasbourg.

Plenipotentiary minister in 1960, Pierre Maillard successively occupied near the Général de Gaulle the functions of diplomatic adviser to the general secretary of the presidency of the Republic (1959 - 1964) and of assistant general secretary of National defense (1964 - 1968).

Of 1965 with 1969, he is member of the board of directors of the Agence Havas.

Of 1970 with 1975, he is permanent deputy Ambassadeur of France near UNESCO.

Of 1975 with 1979, he is diplomatic adviser of the government in charge of the Euro-Arab dialog.

In 1979, Pierre Maillard is named Ambassadeur of France in China (not installed).

In 1979 with 1981, he is ambassador of France to the Canada and is then high with the dignity of Ambassador of France.

In 1982, he is operations manager near Jean-Pierre Chevènement with the Ministry for Research and industry.

Since 1983, he is member of the Institut Charles de Gaulle.

Of 1996 with 2001, Pierre Maillard is member of the Economic and Social Council of Ile de France.

In 1996 and 1997, he is vice-president of association Défense of the French language.

In 2003, with the General Welsh Pierre-Marie, initiator of the nuclear force of France and Henri Fouquereau, president of the Democratic Movement French, it founds the Forum for France, a political regrouping which works for “the sovereignty and the independence of France”. It thus militated for “not” with the referendum on the European constitutional treaty draft.
