Pierre Mahé

Pierre Mahé , after during its youth, having exerted the trade of printer, gave up it in 1861 to follow the occupation of merchant of stamps. In 1864, it was distinguished while launching a philatelic newspaper, Timbrophile , of which one of the authors more in sight was the doctor Jacques Legrand. This newspaper was initially very technical, taking into account the past of printer of Pierre Mahé. It tried thereafter to inflect this orientation, in order to touch more many people, and re-elected even its Timbrophile in Gazette of the stamps . Pierre Mahé published also a catalog of postage stamps which, in 1874, reached 147 pages.

Pierre Mahé, taking into account the reputation acquired by him in Philately, was also made editor, and published the Essai on the filigrees of Doctor Magnus. He published also Lallier and the masterly work on the tax ones of Philippe de Bosredon of the Bridge.
