Pierre Lapointe

Biography

It was born with the Lac Midsummer's Day (Alma), on May 23rd, 1981, but lived its childhood with Gatineau, in the area of the Outaouais.

In 1998, it begins studies in visual arts, but prefers teaching in theater, which it follows in Cégep of Saint-Hyacinthe. After a few months, it leaves to be devoted to the song. It turns over in Outaouais and supplements a diploma in visual arts there, while being registered with the new contest Tout, any show . It gains the price of the song writer and performer of the year and the price of the public. By after, it is established with Montreal and it starts studies in arts with the Université from Quebec in Montreal.

It devotes the remainder of the year 2001 to the writing of songs and the preparation of an original spectacle.

In 2002,2003 and 2004, it occurs in Europe. At the summer 2003, it signs with Audiogram. In June 2004, it is invited Festival Pully Lavaux in Suisse and receives the Price of the jury 2004. In July, with the FrancoFolies of Montreal, it makes full house during 4 evenings and receives the Prix Felix-Leclerc. This price ensures to him a new presence in France in 2005.

In March 2005, it takes part in the emission French-speaking Couleurs , diffused on the European French-speaking radios at the time of the Day of the Francophonie. It benefits from its popularity to produce two Vidéo-clip which will be received by the public.

In May 2005, it receives the price Very favorite of the Académie Charles-Cross-country race. It obtains a great success with the festival " Then,… " sings; of Montauban (France). In June, its CD Pierre lapointe is certified Disque of gold. In October 2005, it received six Prix Felix: Three directly to him ( popular Album of the year , Revelation of the year like Director of the year ) and three in its entourage ( Arranger of the year - Jean Massicotte, Realizer of disc of the year - Jean Massicotte, Sonorisateur of the year - Louis Simon Hétu). In October 2006, it receives two Prix Felix, that is to say that of the composer-songwriter of the year and that of the best popular album. It also receives the price of arranger of the year with Philippe Brault and Jean Massicotte.

In April 2007, in Spring of Bourges then to the Cicada (Paris), Brigitte Fontaine makes him the honor come to interpret in duet on scene with him " The symphony pastorale".

He is the member elect of the Prix Rapsat-Lelièvre 2007.

October 28th, 2007, it receives a Prix Felix as a song writer and performer of the spectacle of the year for " The forest of the mal-aimés" with the 29th official reception of ADISQ
