Pierre Lépine

Pierre Lépine , born the August 15th 1901 and dead the March 30th 1989, is a Médecin and biologist French.

Wire of the doctor Jean Lépine, he is director of the Institut Pasteur of Athens of 1930 to 1935, then chief of the service of the viruses at the Pasteur Institute of Paris of 1940 to 1971. He undertakes many work on the Virus, advances the use of the Microscope and discovers and develops in 1957 the Vaccin against the Poliomyélite.

He is member of the Academy of Science, of the Académie of medicine, the national Académie of pharmacy and of the Académie of surgery. He is also of many Academies of Science throughout the world: the United States, the USSR, the Vatican, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Brazil.

It has also political commitments, initially within the Parti social French François of Rocque, left patriotic and Christian-social pre-war period which precedes the Gaullisme. It is also to advise of Paris, elected into 1971,1978,1983.
