Pierre Juquin
Pierre Juquin , born the February 22nd 1930 with Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), is a French trade unionist and politician.
Biography
Wire of an employee of the SNCF, former student of the National university and aggregate of German, it teaches initially with the Lycée Lakanal of Sceaux (Hauts-de-Seine) of 1959 with 1966.School-fellow with the ENS of Emmanuel Roy Ladurie, it adheres to the French Communist party and is distinguished, as of 1959, at the time of the countryside for the municipal elections. Member of the federal committee of the Seine-South, federation which its college concerns, it becomes acquainted then with Georges Marchais and enters to the Central committee of PCF like temporary member, in May 1964, at the time of the seventeenth congress. It defends, during this time, the orthodoxe line during the confrontations within the Union of the communist students. Militant with SNES, it takes an active part in the catch of the majority by the Communists with his congress of 1967.
Become titular of the central committee at the conclusion of the eighteenth congress, in January 1967, it is elected appointed third district of the the Essonne (Longjumeau) two months later, before being beaten in June 1968. It finds then its seat in 1973 and until in 1981 preserves it.
It is pointed out like spokesperson of the evolution of PCF on the homosexual question:
- “ the cover of homosexuality or drug forever nothing have to see with the labor movement. One and the other represents even the opposite of the labor movement . ”
- “ homosexuality exists. Its nature is still the subject of studies and scientific controversies. It includes complex phenomena concerning with the knowledge of the human being. The moral judgments related to it vary much according to civilizations: whether one thinks of India or ancient Greece . ”
It then integrates, as substitute, the political office of the central committee in 1979 at the time of the twenty-third congress and becomes regular member at the time of the congress following in 1982. It takes the head of the Press and Information Office meanwhile and is in charge of propaganda.
Excluded from the Political office in October 1984, it enters publicly in dissension with the direction at the time of the XXVe Congrès of PCF of February 1985. Mr. Juquin gradually is marginalized and finally excluded thereafter from PCF in October 1987, after being itself launched in the presidential race. He thus presents himself in 1988 to this election supported by PSU or the LCR and is presented as “the carry-flag of a movement where former members of PCF, trotskists, ecologists and the unorganized ones cohabit”. In spite of the many committees of initiative and support (CIS) which will be created in France on this occasion, it will obtain only 2,08% of the voices. Pierre Juquin continues his reflection on the crisis of Communism and chooses to encourage a socialist ecology at the sides of Carlos Antunes and Wilfried Telkämper. He adheres to the Greens in 1989.
He invites to vote for Laurent Fabius during the internal primary educations with the PS, but publicly announces his refusal to support Ségolène Royal.
In 2006, it publishes a book of memories, " to beat my heart forever ceased ".
