Pierre Joigneaux
Pierre Joigneaux , (Ruffey-the-Beaune, December 23rd 1815 - Wood-Doves, January 25th 1892), was a Journaliste then politician of Extreme-left.
Formation
He makes his studies with the Central Ecole of Arts and Manufactures of Paris and entered the democratic press as of the twenty years age.Collaborator of the Newspaper of the People , of the Corsair , the Hullabaloo , it made a sharp opposition to the government of Louis-Philippe Ier, and was condemned in 1838 to four years of prison for articles published in the Free man , republican newspaper clandestinely printed.
Extremely of this experiment, it publishes in 1841 " Prisons of Paris ".
Returned in its native Burgundy, it founds with Beaune the review the Sentinel beaunoise in 1845 then the Chronicle of Burgundy the following year. It directs then other reviews to Dijon: Mail of the Gold Coast, the Vine grower of the Two-Burgundies and the Industrial and agricultural Review of Burgundy .
Apostle convinced of the republican idea, at the same time as enthusiastic propagator of the healthy concepts of Agriculture, it exploited the farm of Four-Terminals, close to the Châtillon-on-Seine, when the revolution of 1848 burst.
Political career
Its political life starts in 1848: it is named sub-commissioner of the Republic in the district of the Châtillon-on-Seine. Elected official representing of the People to the constituent Assembly, it sits at the Extreme left. Its name was even proposed for a candidature for the presidency of the Republic for the approach of 1852.Opposed to the coup d'etat of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, it is expelled and takes refuge with Saint-Hubert in Belgium where it binds friendship with Alexandre Dumas father. It resumes its agronomic studies and publishes in Brussels several estimated practical works. It will not return to France that to the favor of an amnesty pronounced in 1859.
Deputy in 1871, it is constantly re-elected. It is then Senator of the Côte of Gold and General adviser of the Canton of Beaune-South.
Agronomist
Impassioned Agronomy, Joigneaux is, with Alfred de Vergnette de Lamotte, one of the promoters of the school of Viticulture of Beaune. It is also at the origin of the law of 1872 which proposes the creation of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of horticulture of Versailles.
