Pierre Ier of Serbia , from its name Pierre Karađorđević, into Serb Cyrillic Петар I Карађорђевић , was born on June 29th, 1844 in Belgrade, and died on August 16th, 1921. He was king of Serbia of 1903 with 1918, then at the end of the First World War, king of Serb, the Croats, the Sloveniens of 1918 with 1921.
He engaged in the Foreign legion during the invasion of France by Germany in 1870.
Pierre 1st fact his military studies with Saint-Cyr military school, foreign basis, of 1862 to 1864. In 1870, not supporting to see the France beaten by the Prussians, it engages as second lieutenant with the 5th foreign battalion, under the name of Pierre Kara and fights in the rows of the Armée with the Loire. October 11th, it is wounded under Orleans. Captive fact, it escapes while crossing the the Loire and joined the rear-guard from the army from Chanzy to take again its place with the combat.
In 1875, it belongs to insurgent which fights the Turks in Herzégovine but it must take refuge soon in Suisse.
A military plot puts an end in 1903 to the dynasty of the Obrénovitch. Pierre Karageorgévitch goes up on the throne of Serbia under the title of Pierre 1st, king of the Serb ones. Reached by the disease, it indicates in 1914 his Alexandre son as Prince Régent and the care leaves him to carry out military operations until the victorious offensive of autumn 1918.
Appointed kings of Serb, the Croats and the Sloveniens after the treaty of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer, Pierre 1st yields the throne in 1921 to his son who will reign under the name of Alexandre Ier of Yugoslavia.
Pierre 1st is the son of Alexandre Karađorđević and Persida Nénadovna. In 1883, it married Zorka of Montenegro.
