Pierre Guillaumat (born the August 5th 1909 with the Arrow in the Sarthe), deceased the August 28th 1991) was a statesman French.
Wire junior by the general Adolphe Guillaumat, he attends the courses of the Prytanée of the Arrow. He integrates Polytechnique (promotion 1928), which he leaves in 1931, then the École des Mines of Paris, which he leaves in 1933, member of the Corps of the mines. He is successively chief of the mines inspectorate in Indo-China (1934 - 1939) then in Tunisia (1939 - 1943). During the war, it enters clandestinity and is useful with BCRA and in IIIe armed. In 1944, the Général de Gaulle names it directing fuels, function which it occupies until in 1951. From 1951 with 1958, he is general administrator with the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (ECA). It also chairs Électricité de France 1954 1959. The technicians of the ECA then develop the French atomic bomb.
Minister for the armies in the governments of the General de Gaulle then of Michel Debré as from June 1958, he becomes deputy secretary near the Prime Minister, in charge with atomic energy, the search and the public office for February 1960 at April 1962. He was Minister for education by interim of the November 22nd 1960 with the February 20th 1961.
Then of 1962 with 1966, it is chairman of the General union of oils (UGP) then of the ERAP (Entreprise oil research and activities) which joins together the autonomous Régie of oils (RAP) to the Bureau of research of oils (BRP). He is the first president of ERAP-ELF which includes also the gasolines and lubricating French.
Moreover, Pierre Guillaumat chaired EDF of 1965 to 1966.
He was concerned Energy independence of France. The discovery of gas of Lacq and gas in Algeria and black Africa goes back to its time.
It was made Grand' cross of the Légion of honor, and one also decreed the to him Military Cross 1939-1945.
