Pierre Gilbert

Pierre Gilbert (Brussels, September 4th, 1904 - Uccle, August 22nd, 1986) is a Belgian Historien , which was professor of Egyptology to the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles, conservative as a chief of the royal Musées of art and history of Brussels, director of the Egyptological Association Queen Elizabeth and member of the royal Académie of Belgium - Arts section and Letters.

Pierre Gilbert continued and developed work of the Belgian Egyptologist Jean Capart, which was the guide of the queen Elisabeth of Belgium and initiated an esthetic approach of the culture and Egyptian art.

Pierre Gilbert is the author of many works such as poetries, plays, descriptions of voyages, translations with accompanying notes and interpreted traditional Egyptian texts.
