Pierre Gadonneix
Pierre Gadonneix , born the January 10th 1943 with New York, doctor in saving in company of the Business School of the University Harvard, is former student of the Polytechnic school.
It was named president of Électricité de France the September 15th 2004, by the government of Dominique de Villepin.
Until this date and since January 1996, he was President of the Group Gaz de France which he joined nine years earlier, in 1987, in the capacity as Managing director. He was renewed in his president's functions in 1999. Under its impulse, Gaz de France led and completed its financial reorganization by continuing a strong growth in France and Europe within the framework of a strategy of integration on all the chain Gaz ière. In a context of opening of the markets, Pierre Gadonneix engaged an industrial project and social aiming at positioning durably Gaz de France like a leader of energy to dominant gas, in Europe.
Pierre Gadonneix exerts moreover various international responsibilities in the energy sector. In 2000, he was elected, for a four years mandate, President of Eurogas, international association gathering the companies and professional federations of the gas industry of 19 European countries and became, in 2004, Europe vice-president of the World council of the energy which federates the main actors of this industry in the world.
From 1978 to 1987, Pierre Gadonneix was director of mechanical and electric metallurgical Industries to the Ministère of Industry and has, within the framework of his functions, taken part in the preparation of the Restructuration S of the iron and steel sector . In 1976, Pierre Gadonneix was adviser technical with the cabinet of the Research and Minister of Industry.
He was also beforehand Directeur at the Institute of Industrial development (IDI), first French structure of funds of investments in SME, which he had integrated in 1972 like operations manager then responsible for department. In 1969, Pierre Gadonneix created a company, the SEFI, service company in data processing, employing about fifty engineers and whom it directed during two years before his transfer in 1972 to a great industry group. Pierre Gadonneix began his career in 1966 by integrating the group Elf Aquitaine, in the capacity as engineer to the Data processing department then with the Commercial department of the company Aquitaine Organico.
Pierre Gadonneix was member of the Board of directors of great groups, in particular EDF (1978/1987), Elf-Erap (1988/1995), Usinor (1982/1987), Renault (1978/1987), the SNCF (1983/1987) and France Telecom (1998/2003).
Pierre Gadonneix is member of the Economic and Social Council. He was, of 1993 to 1999, president of the French Council of energy.
Author of a thesis of Doctorate in Harvard published in 1975: “Test of adaptation of French computing industry to the American challenge”, Pierre Gadonneix was also, during 10 years (of 1983 to 1992), University lecturer with the Polytechnic school where he taught the economy.
Officer in the national order of the Legion of honor, Commander in the National order of the Merit and in the Order of Arts and the Letters, Pierre Gadonneix is married and father of three children.
In April 2007, it is promoted Commandeur of the Légion of honor.
Its gross salary was assembled to 630.204 Euros in 2006 compared with 468.548 Euros in 2005 (source: Reference document EDF).
