Pierre Faure is a geographer French which took part in the voyage towards the South Seas that led Nicolas Baudin between 1800 and 1803. Installed on Naturalist during this scientific Voyage of exploration, it was the first to see and draw the plan of the island Faure, to which Baudin gave its name.
