Jean Angot suggests that Fauchard with obtained the title of Expert for the teeth before 1708, then of surgeon in 1711 or 1712. Consequently, he exerted in an itinerant way (as he was of use at the time) in all France and opens a shop in 1718, in the current street of the Old Comedy in the 6 {{E}} district of Paris.
During its activity, it trains several dentists (as it was of use because there did not exist yet of school), among whom Gaillard, his Strapping man-Courteous nephew, Gaulard and especially his/her brother-in-law Laurent Tugdual-Duchemin, who it sonsidère like its single pupil .
In 1747 it is always established street of the Medical school in the 6th district of Paris.
He dies the March 21st 1761, on of Cordeliers in Paris. André Leroux of Founds (1724-1789), then his associate, takes again his ensign with his death.

the Dental surgeon
Work major of Pierre Fauchard, the Dental surgeon, or Treated teeth , published in 1728 is the first compilation of knowledge of the time in odontology. This book is regarded as marking the beginning of modern odontology. The book knows an 2nd edition in 1746, where it is re-examined, corrected and increased.More than one purely descriptive book of the dental anatomy, Fauchard also described there techniques of intervention on various pathologies, but also the presentation of several instruments which it designed. Each one of these aspects is thus treated in a clean part:
- the first concentrates on the dental anatomy, its development or the diseases being able to as well touch the children as the adults
- the second on the various treatments as it carried out successfully
- the third contains the description of surgical instruments, procedures or of prostheses
