Pierre Edmond Boissier

Pierre Edmond Boissier is a Botaniste Suisse, born the May 10th 1810 with Geneva and dead the Valeyres-under-Rancid September 25th 1885 with .

He is the author of the Flora Orientalis (five volumes, 1867-1884) and botanical Voyage in the mide of Spain during the year 1837 (1839-1845). One credits it with the description of 6.000 new species. Its work and its herbarium are continued by his/her son-in-law William Barbey (1842-1914).
