Pierre Duèze

Pierre Duèze († 1326) is the brother of Jacques Duèze which was Pape under the name of Jean XXII at the 14th century.

It had been made build towards 1300 a palate in top of the town of Cahors, of which there remains today a tower and some sections of wall.

In 1317 Pierre Duèze bought, of Bernard de Lautrec, the Viscount of Carmain (Caraman, Haute-Garonne) and the baronnie of Saint-Felix-of-Carmain (today Saint-Felix-Lauragais) confirmed by letter-licenses of the king Charles IV in 1324. His/her oldest son, Arnaud Duèze, or of Vèze, were created Roman count by his uncle Jean XXII per brief in 1328.
