Pierre Dénys de Montfort
Pierre Dénys de Montfort is a Naturaliste French, born in 1766 and died in 1820.
It makes appear, of 1808 with 1810, its systematic Conchyliologie: univalve shells, partitioned . This work marks a big step in the taxonomy of univalve molluscs. Dénys de Montfort increases the number of known kinds considerably and creates some nearly 129 new.
It is one of the first to be been interested in the extremely small shells and even if its classification higher than the kind were not followed its role is important in the rise of the modern Conchyliologie.
It is also interested in the Apiculture and makes appear in 1813 Ruche with three annual harvests, strengthened, economic, and its government, or Means of putting the bees at cover against the attacks of their enemies… .
