Pierre Curzi (Montreal, February 11th, 1946 -) is a Acteur, Scénariste, trade unionist and Homme Politique Québécois. He is the deputy of the district of Borduas to the National Assembly of Quebec since 2007, under the banner of the Parti Québécois.
Curzi knew a career of actor where it alternates between television and the cinema. Although he played in several drama series in the Années 1980, he becomes an actor of television impossible to circumvent in the Années 1990. He knows much success with his interpretation of Dosithée Pronovost in the Girls of Caleb , a historical Feuilleton televised with the antenna of the Télévision of Radio-Canada. As from 1997, it joint with the production of the soap Virginia. It replaces his colleague and friendly Robert Gravel, deceased the day before the second season, on August 12th, 1996. It takes again the role of Gilles Bazinet, the principal.
He was the president of the Union of the artists, principal Syndicat of Artiste S of the scene, the Télévision and the Cinéma to the Quebec, of 1998 with 2006 and the vice-president of the International association of the actors, of 2004 to 2007. During its years of trade unionism, it conducted a vigorous campaign in favor of the ratification of a treated of UNESCO in favor of the Cultural diversity.
He is elected appointed district of Borduas, the March 26th, 2007. As deputy, Curzi acts like critic pequist in the files of the Culture and the communications and Immigration and the cultural communities.
In spite of its relative inexperience on the political plan, some militants of the PQ evoked his name like possible successor of André Boisclair, during the days which preceded and followed the resignation of the pequist chief, in May 2007.
Curzi was put in nomination for the Jutra of the best supporting actor in 2004 for his role of Pierre the cruel Invasions . A long homage, with humorous connotation, is dedicated to him. Very moved, he lengthily thanked his large family of the cinema in a speech which moved several in the room by them. He concluded his speech by affirming that the cinema was to be with the image of Quebec: Proud, free and sovereign.
