Pierre Chayriguès

Pierre Chayriguès (born the 1 {{er}} May 1892 with Paris - died the March 19th 1965) was a football player French.

Biography

Pierre Chayriguès is the first French goalkeeper of reputation. He begins in team first from the JAS Levallois as of the thirteen years age. He joined Red Star in 1911 and New Year's gift his first selection in team of France in the tread. He “invents” the releases with the fists and the exits in the feet of the adversaries. He is the first French guard to leave his line to pre-empt the adversaries. This causes to him many wounds in spite of its very solid stature and its 1m70. Its reputation crosses the borders of the Hexagon. The English professional club of Tottenham Hotspur proposes a gold bridge to him to recruit it in 1913, but Chayriguès refuses. He will acknowledge later that he earned very well his living in Red Star, in spite of his statute of amateur… He stops his career in 1925 following new wounds. He leaves in particular in the feet the Uruguyan attacker Petrone at the time of the Olympic Games summer 1924 and is wounded seriously; Chayriguès will never recover really from this wound.
