Pierre Cartellier

Pierre Cartellier or Cartelier or Carteixier (December 2nd 1757 - June 12th 1831), is a goldsmith and neo-classic sculptor of style .

Biography

Born poor relations, he was member of the Institut, he was professor at the School of the Art schools since 1816, where he had had as raises Rude.

Quatremère de Quincy gave a Notice on its life and its works.

It is buried in the 53e division of the Cimetière of the Father-Lachaise in Paris. Its burial - had to the sculptor Louis Petitot - was the subject of a protection measure under the historic buildings (January 25th, 1990).
