Pierre Carron

Pierre Carron , born with Fécamp the December 16th 1932, is a French painter and sculptor.

He first of all studies the drawing with the regional École of the Art schools of Le Havre. Because of Occupation, it will be a time the only pupil of the school. He attends then the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of decorative arts then enters in 1951 to the Art schools of Paris the workshop of Raymond Legueult. In 1957, it receives the Price of criticism and in 1960, it is first Grand Prix of Rome and leaves to remain with the Villa Médicis where it meets Balthus, director of the establishment at the time. He becomes professor in the Art schools of Paris in 1967, function which he will occupy during thirty years, until becoming the last professor of the school to teach in an exclusive way figurative painting “realistic”.

He is elected member of the Académie of the Art schools in 1990, with the armchair of Felix Labisse. He chairs the Academy in 2002.

Its pictorial style, very influenced by Balthus, is decorative but not exclusively.
