Pierre Broussel (1575 - 1654), adviser with the Parliament of Paris under Louis XIII and Louis XIV.

He became popular during the Fronde while being opposed to the new taxes suggested by Mazarin. The regent Anne of Austria having made it stop the August 26th 1648, the people of Paris raised and required his widening during the day of the barricades. Pierre Broussel and his assistant Nicolas Blancmesnil were released the following day in spite of the reserves of the regent.

The following year, his/her son was named governor of the Bastille, from which the people came to seize. In 1651, the Frondeur S named it Prévôt of the merchants of Paris. When the order was restored, it was excluded Amnistie. He died in exile.
