Pierre Bourgeade is a man of letters French at the same time Romancier, Dramaturge, Poète, Scénariste, Journaliste, critical arts person and Photographe. Descendant of Jean Root, he is also the brother-in-law of the écrivaine Paule Constant. Biography

A childhood marked by the war of Spain

Pierre Bourgeade is born on November 7th, 1927 with Morlanne (small village located in the Yrénées-Atlantiques). The father, modest civil servant, is anonymous link of a long succession of frontier runners, making escape towards Spain. The child each night trembles. One spoke about “camps”. The unnamable one, the horror are the daily bread of the daydream.

At the feverish days of the Release, one finds the author lengthened on a prostitute, distressed, not knowing if the man in love must insert his two legs between the largely open legs of the woman (the manner which one says, in traditional prosody, that masculine rhymes and feminine rhymes are embraced), or if it must intermingle his legs with the woman (with the manner which one says that these rhymes are alternate). This young man is really “an arts person”!

Literary beginnings

Its first manuscript, Immortal the , where it is much question of women, spends ten years to find an editor. Refused everywhere, it falls between the hands from Georges Lambrichs, director of the Chemin , which decides the publication at once of it. Days of joy, for the author, “second birth” which a crisis accompanies by dysentery. Maurice Nadeau, giving an account of the book in the literary Fortnight , locates of it the author, of which he is unaware of all, in the mobility of Breton and of Bataille, stars died, it is need to specify it, without to have left filiation. Obvious reason of a resurrection which did not have of equal, in these twenty years, which the literary explosion! The author in taken his share, carrying to the scene topics and forms which he had worked in the novel. Orden (created in XXVe Festival of Avignon with Lavelli and Arrigo) introduced the musical theater, new misadventure of the opera. Deutsches Requiem (with Daniel Benoin) tried a revival of the political theater. Palazzo Mentale (with Georges Lavaudant) introduced the theater of the phantasm, celebrating in seven languages frays - French, German, Italian, Spanish, English, Czech, Yiddish - agitated in empty cranium of the Borges, Dantes or the Kafka, the collapse of the culture.

The photography of Pierre Bourgeade

Faithful to its literary topics, Bourgeade especially photographed the naked one, in black and white. It was friendly several photographers, in particular Man Ray with which it carried out some talks and Pierre Molinier to which it devoted some texts.
